Check Out Some of Our Past Initiatives

 The Portage County Republican Women’s Club spreads holiday cheer by visiting local nursing homes, where we sing Christmas carols and serve fresh-baked cookies to the residents. This heartwarming tradition not only brightens the holidays for our seniors but also fosters a sense of connection and joy. We take great pride in bringing smiles and holiday spirit to those who have shaped our community. 

 We believe every child deserves the tools to succeed, which is why we have worked with Project Promise of Portage County to organize an annual backpack drive to provide much-needed school supplies to disadvantaged high school-aged children in Portage County. Through generous donations from our members and the community, we’ve helped equip students with backpacks filled with the essentials they need to succeed academically and make the most of their educational opportunities. 

 In celebration of the incredible women who have made lasting impacts in Ohio, the Portage County Republican Women’s Club proudly hosts a galas honoring these trailblazers, with our first taking place in 2024. This event recognizes women who have exhibited courage and strength through military service. In 2024, we honored First Lt. Ashley White Stumpf, who courageously lost her life in defense of our nation. Our next gala will take place in Spring 2026. 

 Our "Paws for a Cause" fundraiser  raised funds and awareness for the Portage County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit. Through this fundraiser, we show our support for these hardworking K9s and their handlers, who play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our community. This fundraiser included powerful demonstrations of the K9s by their handlers, a chance to pet our furry friends and enjoying a good meal. 

 The Portage County Republican Women's Club proudly organizes Candidates Nights, providing a platform for local and statewide candidates to engage directly with voters. These events offer a unique opportunity for our community to hear firsthand from those seeking office, ask important questions, and make informed decisions. By fostering open dialogue and promoting civic engagement, we continue to strengthen our community’s connection to the political process.
